So our volunteer, Richi, left us last week and we couldn’t be happier. Why? Well because he’s moved onto greener pastures – or at least, into employment.

Richi, as part of the Creative Employment Programme impressed us so much with his drive and determination at a recent job interview; we just had to get him back.
He volunteered with us through a scheme at his local Job Centre+ and managed to hugely increase his employability in the process. He built up his confidence and ventured outside of his comfort zone, as well as learning skills that now benefit him in his new placement.
By the end of the day I was comfortable speaking to people again and I could feel my confidence coming back from years of being rejected and told I couldn't do things.- Richi, on his blog about his time with NOISE
After giving him much more responsibility than he was used to (or dropping him in at the deep end as Rich puts it!), Richi was able to build upon his confidence in his own ability, convincing himself that he was capable of much more than he gave himself credit for.
This kind of work from something as simple as e-mails has helped me a bunch in the job that i've now fallen into!- Richi, on his blog about his time with NOISE
NOISE helped him with his CV and prepared him better for the role he was interviewing for and everything worked out alright in the end. Now, a PR & Marketing Intern at Victoria Baths, through the Creative Employment Programme, Richi is happy and thriving in his new role.
Read more about his experience here at NOISE HQ and his advice to young people trying to make it into the roles they want on his personal blog.
