SELECTED WORK

The Maerlock
After meeting at Music College in Manchester in 2002 talented young folk-roots band The Maerlock set their sights on combining their musical skills into a collection of traditional and modern folk numbers. The bands sound is a grand mix of folk, jazz, funk, rock and classical; which brings energy and originality into their music, making it incredibly liable and enjoyable not only to seasoned folk-music listeners but to those who are less familiar with the genre. The group are in high- demand playing concerts and ceilidhs all over the British Isles and other global folk music hot-spots.

Freely Moving
Freely Moving are three musicians/filmmakers/writers from Manchester who claim to "constantly reinvent themselves"?, keeping things fluid, improving, moving, evolving, resolving and "having a damn good time."? The band switch between anthem creating, piano melodies, before mixing into hard, fast in-your-face guitar cuts with razor sharp grooves. "Describing our sound is a bit like drawing a smell, but perhaps not quite so difficult. I'd say we smell like peach schnapps but taste like Tom Yum soup, and we may look like a squiggle but come out more like a really big drawing of scrambled eggs."? says front man Keiran.

The Low Miffs
The Low Miffs met on a university music course, and started practicing in a disused jail cell. But don't expect them to sound like a bunch of music students content to bask in the afterglow of post-Franz Ferdinand. The bands kinetic live performance veers from slapstick to cabaret, with frontman Leo crawling and climbing over every available inch of floor, balcony, and in a recent performance on the Isle of Skye - a tent pole.

Stutterbunny (formerly Eric and the Bunny Boilers)
Female fronted guitar driven rock band Stutterbunny out of Glasgow's North side in 2004, and have developed into one of the best bands to come out of Scotland since Franz Ferdinand. Powerful indie-pop melodies, a great live show and a clear aversion for unnecessary stage antics - this is a band where image is definitely high on the agenda! With influences including Nirvana, Elastica, Blondie and No Doubt Eric and the Bunny Boilers' first release - "Heard You Say"? (an initially limited edition small 500 release from the bands' own 'Evil Anne Records') was re-pressed due to popular demand. Several tracks from the EP have been featured on soundtracks for several short independent UK films, and on the rock band Placebo's "Androgyny"? DVD. The band occurred a quick name change in 2007 and now calls themselves 'Stutterbunny' a nod and longstanding homage to Brit-pop outfit Elastica.
