SELECTED WORK
Catherine Hammerton's wallpaper design Catherine Hammerton's aim was to create interaction between fabrics, their surrounding environments and the people who occupy the space. "I designed and made a collection of cut, stitched and magnetised wallpapers that challenged traditional placement and interior style" she says. Wayne commented, "The wallpaper is both very visually interesting and challenging; it would look really good in an adventurous arty home". |
'Lace Paving Slabs' by Jethro Macey Jethro Macey, 25, Cornwall, designs and makes interior products incorporating digital technologies including laser-cutting and digital transfer printing. His latest work is a unique paving design which translates antique lace into a 3D format. Wayne praised Jethro's work saying, "I like that he's taken something mundane, like paving slabs, brought it to life and added decoration to it. I could see us using these in our developments". |
Tom Goodfellow's 'Wax Light' Tom Goodfellow's 'Wax Light' project, which aims to make consumers aware of their energy useage, was one of Wayne's chosen pieces. "We waste too much energy and we do not see or feel the effects of these actions" says Tom, 25, Sheffield. Wayne applauded the quality of Tom's work and thinks this design could have a real future. "This piece would work well as part of a government ad campaign warning people about the preciousness of energy resources". |
