CHRIS DENT

NOISE 2006 Illustration Curator Choice | ||
Chris Dent from Wormley submitted a number of what he calls "overly obsessive drawings" based on architecture. Chris is now a full time illustrator. Through his NOISE profile a company approached Chris to re-brand their company and recruited him as their full-time illustrator to help take the company in a fresh new direction. Since Chrs's time with the company he's worked for the European section of the company and has flown over the pond to help re-brand the state side branch. Over the past year he's also worked with a number of house-hold names such as Xbox, Pernod, and designed his own range of clothes for Zoo York and ASOS. He's completed 8 solo Shows in London & Paris and will be part of the next INKTHIS show in April 2008 with the likes of Jo Ratcliffe, Jim Stoten, Oliver Hibert, David Foldvari, Jeremyville, Mike Perry to name a few! Chris offers some advice for new artists thinking of submitting thier work to NOISE 2008; "Even though i was very determined when i left Camberwell college of Arts back in 2006, NOISE offered me a platform to show and promote my work to a large audience, i think what NOISE does is great for the creative industry and especially to those who are just starting out." |

Through his involvement with NOISE, Alex was commissioned to design an illustration for .Cent magazine, and was invited onto a NOISE special programme for Channel M.
'I really like the whole mix. It's very comical. The play on imagery to come up with words is brilliant.' - Paul Insect, NOISE Curator: Illustration.
'I have found NOISEfestival to be a good platform for me to exhibit my work and gain recognition that many new graduates may struggle to find. I have met various artists who are at the top of their game. It is always daunting to imagine how people will react to your work in the real world, outside of an educational environment but all the positive attention from well established artists such as Paul Insect has given me a confidence in my work that I don't think I had before.'
