Rhythm 'n' Grime were selected as the finalists of the NOISE Urban Songwriter competition by judges Tony Tagoe of Deal Real Records and Radio 1 DJ Nihal. They then went on to perform against four other finalists at the showdown event held at Deal Real in London. Rhythm 'n' Grime were selected as the overall winners, with prizes of a Yamaha home recording studio and the chance to record a track with producers at the world renowned Dairy Studios in London.

Manchester's Vengeance Crew took part in NOISE 2006's Radio Hijack project. This saw the band participate in a week long studio workshop with Radio 1 insiders, who helped them produce various marketing and promotional material such as biographies, press releases, CD packaging and MySpace pages. They also had the opportunity to visit BBC Radio 1Xtra in London and receive one to one advice sessions with Radio 1 DJ, Ras Kwame on their artist packages.
