Reuben Wood Hair Salon Window Graphic
This was a commission to create a interesting and dynamic image for the window graphic at independent hair salon, Reuben Wood. The salon its self had been refurbished with an edgy and fashionable interior, which the client was looking to translate on to the window graphic. The initial concept came from an earlier work of mine, long haired girl, and developed from there with a series of sketches and concepts. Once the client was happy with the final concept, I moved onto finalise the image, by hand drawing imagery, compositing them together and then converting into vector, ready for large scale print.

Primary Mechanics
I was given Free reign over what to create on the 8 meter wall, with only a loose idea, the line drawing of the don’t panic poster design ‘work’, which Liam Hopkins, head of Lazerian Contemporary Furniture Design had admired. The image was freestyled, using black paint marker, with no initial sketches. As the piece developed i decided i wanted to finish it off with something colourful and distinctive. I referenced an earlier sketch book image for inspiration, resulting in the final colour splash as the finale to the piece

Inspired by images of the universe taken by the hubble space telescope, i attempted, through large scale paper cut installation, to capture the same sense of awe and wonder we have when we look into the deepest regions of space.
