We’re looking forward to a packed weekend of activity on the 20^th as NOISELAB opens its doors for the very last time...

NOISE’s ‘Secret Santa’ exhibition and anonymous postcard sale is ready to roll. You can now browse the postcards in the windows of NOISELAB on Manchester’s Market Street  before the ‘one-day only’ sale this Saturday 20^th November (12pm – 6pm).

We’ve got some excellent pieces from our very own NOISE artists in addition to Wayne Hemingway, Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy, legendary musician Elvis Costello, doodler Jon Burgerman and illustrator Pete Fowler, fresh from designing the Christmas windows of Selfridges, London.

Each postcard costs £45, regardless of the artist and as each postcard is signed on the back, you won’t know the identity of the artist until after you’ve bought it!

Following the great success of the Cross-City Showdown in Leeds last month, NOISEfestival.com has again, teamed up with Test Space for a one-off, cross-city showdown in Manchester. Artists from both Leeds and Manchester will be creating work and showcasing it at a rapid exhibition at NOISELAB, Manchester, on the Saturday 20th November.

NOISEfestival.com and Test Space have selected three Leeds artists and three Manchester artists to each represent their city and each will create a minimum of three pieces of work that relates to, interprets, or defines the city they are working in.

Well done to NOISE artist Jo Cheung, who as well as being featured in our Secret Santa exhibition also has her work gracing the Amelia’s Magazine webpage.

Last year Jo sold her work as part of NOISEfestival.com and Hemingway Design’s KiosKiosK pop up shop project and was one of the best sellers at the NOISELAB.

Jo’s illustrations are also in the soon-to-be-published and eagerly awaited Amelia’s Compendium of Fashion Illustration.

Christmas present anyone?

We have three unique large-scale murals on display in the side windows of NOISELAB by Pete Fowler, Jon Burgerman and Mark Wigan.

The original murals were painted live at NOISELAB during 2010 and are available on the NOISE Charity’s Ebay store.

Proceeds from the postcard and mural sale will go direct to the NOISE Charity. The NOISE Charity currently receives no core funding for its work. This fundraiser will help us to continue the work we do to promote emerging artists.

Hot of the press, North West MEPs have selected NOISE Artist Rehanna Anwar’s entry as the poster they will use to promote the European Parliament’s campaign for an EU Wide Law Against Discrimination on the grounds of religion or belief, age, disability or sexual orientation.

Rehanna’s poster will be launched and displayed at events in the European Parliament in Brussels and Manchester and used as a contact poster to be sent out to library’s and information points across the region.
