About AMP Awards C.I.C.
Now in its 6th year, this successful event involves the collaboration of Pupils, Teaching Staff and Business Mentors in a very exciting Music and Enterprise Competition which also raises significant funds and awareness in support of Charity Partners; Pump Aid, Africa
The AMP Awards is a competition which truly engages young people and teaches real-life enterprise skills to both business students and band members alike. It tests business acumen, event planning, marketing and financial skills whilst also providing a platform to showcase the often uncelebrated talents of emerging rock musicians.
In 2014, over 30 Secondary Schools will take part across 4 Yorkshire Regions – Leeds, Harrogate, York and Bradford. Each student business team will be coached and advised by a Business mentor to act as music promoters and event managers, seeking out the talent to represent their school and go forward to perform at an AMP Awards Regional Final. These large scale events are held at a prestigious venue in the town and represent unprecedented learning and development opportunities for substantial numbers of young people connected by their passion for music; the life changing experience of playing to a capacity audience of parents, peers and industry VIP’s on an impressive professional stage, together with the chance to organise and run the whole show – from Front of House through VIP Hospitality, Photography, Public Relations, Merchandising & Social Media Marketing.
