SKIN

Role:

I curated, organised and produced work for the exhibition

Location:

The Penthouse in Manchester

I curated SKIN as part of a collective entitled Milk Teeth which I founded with three other filmmaking students. As a collective we are passionate about showcasing the creative talents and artistic pursuits of our fellow peers, and feel that it is of the upmost importance to be able to provide platforms for emerging artists to express themselves, and to create new and stimulating creative communities.

Our first show included work that opened up new discourses around the theme and title of our exhibition - ‘SKIN’. The work which we showcased redefined notions of identity and sexuality, and examined our sensory experiences of the exterior world. We wanted the exhibition to be thought provoking and challenge the perceptions we have of ourselves, probing us to reconceive our experiences of the world around us.
