Technology Will Save Us

Hackney, London

Technology Will Save Us is a company which encourages people to be makers of technology - not just consumers. This is achieved through a range of DIY kits that, through the process of assembling, teach individuals how to solder, program and invent! At TWSU I create video content as part of educational initiatives such as Code Club, and also promotional content to excite people about the possibilities in the range of kits. I also work at events to teach people hwo to assemble the kits and also talk to the general public about TWSU, such as The Gadjet Show in April this year.

Out of Print

Out of Print at the London Design Festival 2012

This project involved building a letterpress and type from scratch. The project discusses issues around the unprecedented levels of information produced from the growth of digital media. By attempting to consume ever more, do we end up understanding less? How do we make sense of all the information we consume? With traditional printing techniques and language processing software, Out of Print explored this question. A project in collaboration with Roma Levin, James Cuddy, Danilo Di Cuia and Goldsmiths students.

Design (BA) 2:1

New Cross, London

Design at Goldsmiths is a multidisciplinary course, where the design process involves cultivating concepts and ideas through challenging cultural and societal norms. I produced work in a variety of mediums to suit the concept - my strongest being film and making.

Design (BA) was a challenging course which engaged independent thinking, leadership and team skills. More importantly, it taught me to see the world from new perspectives and transcend old ways of seeing, to enable the production of more unqiue and contemplative designs.

The App Business

The 'SoundBites' App resulted from a competition in conjuntion with Goldsmiths, 5by25 and EBLEX. The competition asked for a new way of teaching the age group of 18-25 to learn how to cook. The idea I imagined was to allow people to learn through spoken recipes, and through winning the competition, the idea was developed into an App.

I created this short film to illustrate my idea for Audio Apps. It was presented to EBLEX and 5 by 25 at the competition 'Reciprize'. This can be seen in the link below:

I was able to intern with 'The App Bussiness' during the Apps development, it was a highly enjoyable experience. The recipes were spoken by Dave Lamb from 'Come dine with me', and it was released in September 2012. Below is a short film I made to illustrate the Apps different functions:
