Emma Wyre

introduction

My name is Emma Wyre. I have always been interested in art, and have drawn since a very young age. At the age of 15 I got the chance to show my work at the "Stepup" a festival in Manchester. When they saw my art they offered me a solo exhibition at the Great Northern Warehouse, on Deansgate in Manchester. This took place in July 2005. (www.stepuponline.org.uk). My animations were also shown during the exhibition, and then I was given the chance to show one of my animations "Orange" on the Bigscreen in Manchester and Liverpool. During StepUp I was asked to design a CD cover for the band marathon taking place. In September, I was asked to participate in the International Doodlebug day In Manchester at the Cornerhouse. Then, in November I was given the opportunity to participate in a New Balance Region exhibition, I entered two pictures which were exhibited. After,I had a solo exhibition at the Drybar in Manchester.I also designed a may postcard for NOISE. Now,I am 20 years old and so many things have happened since I took part in the first NOISE festival, that I couldnt have dreamed of without it! Recently I attended university studying animation, but I am now working on my own projects involving ball jointed dolls. I am also doing freelance and illustration work. :)
