Silver Films Limited

Location:

Manchester / London

1996
I set up Silver Films Ltd in Manchester. Our early work was within a games industry niche and included the international launch of Tomb Raider III with Johnathon Ross and Nell MacAndrew, the launch film of Omikron with David Bowie shot on 8mm in Paris and the European launch of Need for Speed with Jamiroquai in Paris, Berlin and London.

2000
After securing equity investment via the Business Angel Network together with industry matched funding and sponsorship deals, we produced 5 short films and won a multitude of awards including a BAFTA in 2001 for the internationally renowned 10 minute short, About A Girl. We were also BAFTA nominated in 2003 for our 13 minute film Talking With Angels.

2006
Acclaimed Commercials Director, Richard Oliver, joined Silver Films. Together we created a new business model for the company where the commercials division helped fund the development and production of short films and features. We created, developed and produced content and television idents for prestigious luxury car brands such as Lexus and Toyota, and secured very successful long term relationships with the Toyota Motor Company.
During this time, a percentage of company profits were spent on the production of another social short film called Gardens With Red Roses. This film was gifted to Action For Elder Abuse and they continue to use this powerful film as a tool to raise awareness and funding and help change policy.

2011
I decided to close Silver Films after 15 years, I had taken the company as far as I could and wanted to open myself up to new challenges. I am very proud of the 15 years of filmmaking and the quality of work we produced.

Six Dinners Later Limited

Location:

London

After a highly enjoyable career as a BAFTA winning producer, and running a multi-award winning production company for 15 year, I recently launched a brand new venture.

Driven by the desire to create another way to meet new people around a dinner party setting and to drive people offline into a face-to face network, Six Dinners Later was born.

Members join the Guest List and await their first dinner invitation. They’ll go to six dinners, hosting one of their own, and meet 25 new people in the process. The unique part is that we nurture a 'friends of friends' network so members can recommend their friends to join thus creating 2 – 3 degrees of separation.

It’s simple, honest and real.
