I am in my element drawing strange little creatures and scenes that describe how I feel at the time. I giggle at the word 'jelly' and enjoy walking miles and miles with my dog. I love the discipline and patience I can achieve using the finest of nibs in a fine-line ink pen. There is nothing quite like losing myself in an intricate design or sketch and holding my breath as I reach the tiniest of details or the steady holding back so that I do not lunge in and make an uncalculated mistake. But I also welcome the liberation and vibrancy of acrylics or oils, using just my fingers or as big a brush I can find, on any old scrap of paper. The results could be weird landscapes that I can then add my creatures to, within Photoshop.
I studied and completed Art A level at school in 1984, went on to do a Foundation in Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography and Visual Communication in Bristol. Following a long period working in engineering and receiving an Award/Trophy from City of Bath College (very proud moment), I began BA in Graphic Design and Illustration in June 2013 and it is my intention to follow this up with MA in Illustration in the near future. I have sound knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and In-Design; which I use to produce personal and BA artwork. In 2013 my Illustration artwork was exhibited at the Black Swan Arts Centre in Somerset. I have also had my artwork featured on RedBubble and Facebook art pages I have studied Creative Writing and had my poetry published in an Anthology by United Press. My photography has been used to promote local Council and Arts Group websites. I am presently designing illustrations on an album cover for a local musician and as a personal project I am designing Movie posters. I am also working ad-hoc for a London based Games Studio, designing illustrations for their next 2D platform game. I am working as a volunteer designing branding and marketing and administration for a local theatrical group to educate people about the Victory Balls, following The Great War.
