EXT. STREET /FRONT DOOR- DAY
In the local town of Lewes, there is but total silence. People quietly walking through an empty street, inaudibly like ghosts, suddenly the silence is broken by the sound of footsteps of a rather cheerful man skipping down the street clutching a medical bag whilst singing “Ring a Ring o’ Roses”.
The man skipping wearing a beak mask down the street is the local Plague Doctor, Shaun Kidder, who is on his way to see a patient.
Ring-a-ring o' roses, A pocket full of posies, A-tishoo! A-tishoo!
Finally at the address, he finishes the end of the song “Ring a Ring o’ Roses” as he knocks on the door of a Hovel and pulls out a scroll from his medical bag.
We all fall down.
*Doctor Kidder Knocks on the door*
Hello, it’s Doctor Kidder, here to help a …
*He rolls out the scroll *
…a “Mister Poorly”…
A voice is heard from inside the hovel.
Yes, just give us one moment please!
Dr Kidder waits at the door to be opened, whilst waiting he hears a couple argue inside. Doctor Kidder pulls up his mask and looks back at his scroll.
A “Mister Poorly” eh? No wonder he’s ill…
All of a sudden Doctor Kidder hears a faint sound in the distance, the sound of a monk chanting.
