AUTHOR / C0-FOUNDER OF I-D
“I THINK IT'S IMPORTANT THAT PEOPLE IN THE MEDIA UNDERSTAND THAT WE CAN PASS ON A POSITIVE MESSAGE ABOUT DIVERSITY - OF ETHNICITY, SIZE AND AGE. WE'RE COMMUNICATORS - WE ABSOLUTELY HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY!”
As one of the co-founders of i-D magazine in 1980, Tricia Jones began her career as a primary school teacher in London. In 1968 she married Terry Jones, who became the youngest ever Art Director for British Vogue 1972 -1977. The couple recently received an “Outstanding Achievement Award” from The British Fashion Council which acknowledged their many years working with some of today’s biggest names in the industry. Although she claims to have only cooked for the team in the early years, her role became increasingly important as she began to deal with all management aspects of the magazine. Tricia's pride and joy is her own “Soul” project started in 1998 and has included a number of books and international exhibitions in Berlin, Paris, Milan, New York and Beijing. “Soul” is a collaboration with many creative voices across all aspects of art and media, contributors have included Wolfgang Tillmans, David LaChapelle, Paul Smith, Tracey Emin and the late Alexander McQueen.
