introduction

I was born and raised in the small village, Palmowo in Greater Poland and brought up in the countryside it exposed me to the difficulties of life from a very early age and these difficulties inspired me to include documentation of this in my Photography projects. My Passion for photography completely seized my attention and from the age of nineteen my determination to become a photographer led me to graduating in BA Photograph (Honors) from Middlesex University, London. During my studies I was selected to show my portfolio of images capturing the problem of alcoholism in Poland .For this I was rewarded with the main prize for Photography at the D&AD New Blood 2010 exhibition. As well as being awarded the D&AD prize I have been chosen as one of the 4 finalists for the Channel 4 and Saatchi Gallery : New Sensations 2010 Prize . Specialising in social documentary, urban landscapes and portraiture. All my projects are the result of working with medium format analogue camera. My aim is to create a “ real ” image: attempting to expose what is happening deep within the psyche of my subjects. My photographs capture authentic locations and tell stories about the people who live there. The images come alive in light; the story reaches the spectator beyond material reality.
